Members are supported by an efficient and responsive clerking team. Alex Carter-Gaunt has over 10 year’s clerking experience, and is assisted by our fees clerk, Andrea Loveless. 

 Traditional clerking methods, promoting high levels of client service, are underpinned by the state-of-the-art, off-site hosted IT systems allowing for the effective management and monitoring of all aspects of Chambers work.

We will take time to discuss your requirements with you and can advise on the right choice of barrister. We are happy to provide fee estimates at the outset or at any stage during a case.

Alex Carter-Gaunt (Practice Manager)

Alex has been clerking Chambers since 1998 and has had considerable involvement in its growth and success.  

With overall responsibility for all aspects of Chambers administration he retains day to day involvement with all Members. This makes him uniquely qualified to provide guidance and advice to our professional and lay clients in their choice of Counsel.

Alex passionately believes in the importance of maintaining excellent relations with our professional clients. This is achieved by providing a responsive and professional service that combines traditional values with modern thinking.

Alex is also responsible for all IT systems and requirements enabling Chambers to deliver a fast and efficient service.

Susan Barrett (Marketing Manager)

Susan has over 10 years marketing experience made up from time spent within the commercial sector. Susan's  experience covers marketing planning, sales mangement, direct mail , website manegement and PR.

Susan's primarily responsibility is to increase the profile of chambers.

Susan comes to St. Albans chambers from Devereux chambers.

Andrea Loveless (Fees Clerk)

Andrea is a qualified chartered accountant with a background in auditing, accounting and risk management.  She is responsible for the collection of fees and the payment of invoices.
